Prague Nightlife
Prague is known to have some of the best beer in the world, so its no wonder that most of the city's nightlife surrounds its many pubs and bars. Locals and tourists alike flock to these places in the evening to enjoy a few glasses of beer and sprits with friends. While most of the bars in the inner city are usually packed with tourists, they are all decent and serve up great drinks. If you want to get away from the throngs of visitors, head to the suburbs where the bars are quieter and frequented by locals.

Another trend that sets Prague bars apart from the rest of the world is their staple alcohol: Absinthe. This strong (up to 160 proof) drink has been banned from all but three countries in the world due to its apparenty hallucinogenic ingredient (wormwood), but the Czech's consider it as common as beer. Greenish in color, the more wormwood it contains, the cloudier it becomes when added to water. The locals drink it on the rocks, but foreigners will have a hard time even getting a shot down. If you're eager to sample it, mix a teaspoon of sugar in with it, and light it on fire with a match to burn off a bit of the alcohol. Be careful before going onto a second or third drink of it however, this is strong stuff, and although sometimes takes a few minutes to kick in, a little can go a long way!

One of the city's trendiest bars is Vinarna U Sudu, an underground maze of cellars that has been converted into a stylish hangout. For an excellent meal to go with your drinks, head to Pivnice u Sv. Tomase. Order your meat here a day in advance, and when you arrive you'll have a mouthwatering, perfectly cooked dinner.

Prague isn't much of a clubbing city, they tend to prefer Jazz and Rock. There are a few decent discos around though: try heading to Radost FX for techno tunes and good drinks.
